Escorted Tours of Forbidden City and Beijing
Featured on all of our tours of Beijing, a morning walk through the worlds largest public square – Tiananmen, before entering the forbidden city and viewing the Imperial splendour of the Emperors’ palaces. A lunch of Imperial food follows at the famous Fangshan Restaurant. These specially prepared dishes were once reserved only for the Emperor and his family and their exquisite presentation and flavours will tantalise the senses.
We then move on to the Temple of Heaven, built on ther principles of the Taoist Faith. with its perfect lines and stunning Ming Architecture.
We head north of Beijing to the Great Wall, where we visit Mutianyu. Higher up in the mountains than the more touristy Badaling, this quieter section of the Great Wall offers unforgetalbe views of this magnificent structure and a quieter, more authentic experiance. Lunch is served in a nearby converted school house, popular with Bejingers “in the know” of where to eat out.
In the eveing there will be the option to visit “The Legend of Kungfu” performance…. spectacular show of the skills of former disciples of the Shaolin Monastery.
